Loud heating fan

my passenger side heating lower heating fan is about 25% louder then my buddys brand new FJ. I brought it into the dealer and they said that it isn't covered under warrenty and that it is normal. Whats your take? It is obviously louder and driving me nuts.

Re: Loud heating fan

Mine did the same thing. However my dealer(Karl Malone Toyota) replaced it free of charge. Your dealer sucks man. My new fan is about 3 months old and I think its getting louder as we speak.. I just don't know if I'm being hypersensitive. Take it to another dealer in your area and maybe they will do it for ya.

Good luck, man.

Same thing here. It was a pain to get them to replace the fan--had to go sit in a new FJ on the lot to listen to the fan; prior to that I got the "that's normal" response again and again. I think mine is getting louder again as well.

I am being hypersensitive, but I don't care.

I was at the shop today, they said they didnt hear anything... I asked the tec to go into 2 others and tell me if they heard it. She heard the differance. I am meeting the manager on Monday. My take is that if it is this loud now how loud will it be after the warrenty has expired!
