My fj has a little under 15000 miles on it but b4 it even had 3000 I washed the windsheild with a cleaning squeegee from a gas station, making sure it was cleaned off before i cleaned my windsheild. My windsheild got a lot of scratches from that one. I only cleaned it one other time and it happened again. Is there such a thing as faulty glass or weak glass. I know you need to clean the sqeegee of sand so it doesn't scratch your windsheild and i did that. Can the dealer be held accountable because i asked them about it and they brushed it off.

Welcome,
You've only cleaned your windshield twice in 15,000 miles........? My windshield gets squeegee's at least once a week and although some have left streaks, some have been very hard (especially in cold weather) none have scratched it. That being said, it's got plenty of tiny crystal chips from sand and rocks hitting it.

Depending on how deep the scratches are, Jeweller's Rouge is the only thing that I know of that will polish glass.

I'd second that.
While at my in-laws, I mistakenly used a sponge with scotch-brite on one side instead of non-scratching scouring pad on the windshield to remove some stubborn, dried-on bug guts accumulated on the drive there. Different car, but Jeweller's Rouge made my self-inflicted scratches much less noticeable. Sponges with the nylon webbing on one side is all I use now on those bug guts.
I just use Rain-X window cleaner and a microfiber towel....?
Yeah, that's great when the windshield's relatively clean - say after washing your rig. But on a road trip, with insect goo sun-dried on, you might want to start with the nylon mesh thing to attack the bug-jerky and get it out of the way before using microfiber.
