Interior pieces not paint matched! And drilled holes on bumper

Hi everyone,

I just got my FJ last night and I didn't notice that the interior pieces on the door were not color matched to my car. The radio bezel is but the interior pieces are black/unpainted plastic. I'm going to call my salesman later today to talk about this? Any ammo I can use to get something out of this? I thought all FJ's were supposed to have this color matched.

Another thing is that there are 2 holes drilled vertically on the front bumper. It looks like this one may have had the FJ driving lights that go in front of the grill, then removed some point after. In addition there is also some paint missing from the grill due to the driving lights that I assume used to be there. I'm going to gun out for free lights because the holes are already there.. that or have them give me a new bumper/grill.

I purchased the car new with 101 miles on the odo just last night...

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!..

THanks!

Well, you gotta let us know what packages your FJ came with. If it doesn't have Upgrade package 1 or 2 it won't have the color matched interior side panels.

Oh really? Well I guess I wasn't supposed to have those painted then... Here are my options anyways:

FE / CQ / OF / CF / C7

Have no fear, it is apparently pretty easy to pop out those panels and paint them if you so desire. As far as the holes in your bumper, you should definitely get something out of that. Be it a new bumper and grill or the lights.

Holes in the bumper? Maybe a dealership tag was on there.

verticle holes, yeah you shouldn't have them. thats BS, they tried to get over on ya there, as for the panels, yeah it's already been stated that those cost extra.

Re: Interior pieces not paint matched! And drilled holes on bumper

I noticed a nice black FJ in the showroom that also had holes in the bumper. It was super nice with detailing and stuff, unlike the new one that I bought, so I looked closer. It had had a brush guard or bull bar mounted and then removed. You could see shiny places where it had compressed the bumper plastic. Ron

PS; The dealers like to install those things as they are almost 100% profit

If those vertical holes are on top of the bumper, it sounds like you FJ had the lights, or light bar installed (by the dealer, at the port, who knows?) and then they were removed to install on someone else's FJ. Beat up the dealer. The top of that bumper should have no holes in it.
