Wet Floor

It rained hard today and when I opened the door I noticed the floor was wet front and back. Also soaking wet underlayment. I looked for the source of the leak but could not find it. Any ideas?

Also no roof rack mainly factory at the moment except radio and Fat mat through out.

lol, no I'm afraid my experience is but a crumb from a cold turkey sandwich on a fat man's stomach compared to most any other member round these parts. I'm hoping to graduate to a slice of bread sometime soon here...

Re: Wet Floor

Check to see that the seals around the doors are tight. Funny thing about water....It always runs to the lowest spot.

Re: Wet Floor

No nothing else was wet as far as seats, headliner or dash. The only thing above the floor that was wet was the top of foot rest thing. I put some shop towels in areas near there to see if when it rains tonight if it is coming from that area. I did check the seals around the doors. The inner seal that butts to the headliner and all the interior trim in the top corner was not all the way in the corner. But that seal was not wet at all since it is the second seal on the door. I pulled it off and check.

Do a search, it seems like people were having problems but I don't remember where the leaks were coming from. Try searching something like "water leaks" and see what you come up with.

Re: Wet Floor

search for wet seatbelt - you'll find this was a common problem early on with FJ's

Re: Wet Floor

Once I am home long enough I will try and take it to the dealer and see what they can find. But the seatbelt has never been wet to date. Does not mean its not leaking from the door though. We did not end up getting rain last night but today we did but i was driving in it. So no leak. Keep you all posted. On a side not finally received my rock guards and had line-x on them so tonight or tomorrow they will be put on.
