My question could probably best be answered by those forum members that work at dealerships but maybe someone else could also.
When i bought the FJ, it took a lot longer then expected, about 4 hours for everything not including the test drive. There were a few other small problems that i had. No one in the entire dealership could explain any of the features i had questions about. Also, they tried to pass off that aftermarket tow hitch as the factory one. Anyways, i wasn't very happy with the whole experience. The salesman even said when he gave me the survey "Please go ahead and put all 100's on here for us to help us out". Do car salesman not know the word honest or do they just hate it?
So you are suppose to mail it in an not give it to the dealer to mail in so they can't change your answers to make themselves look better.
On my survey i gave them about a 60%.
My problems are two-fold. They now know that I gave them this bad rating. So i am very weary about taking it in for anything dealing with a warranty as they will have have negative feelings towards me. Also, my Father does upholstery work for this Toyota dealership and they contacted him asking him what was the deal with me giving them this rating. Now, they have some animosity towards my Dad.
My question is, is this survey supposed to be anonymous when they report back to the dealership? Or does toyota corporate tell the dealership who the person was that gave them the bad rating?
If so, why on earth would they do that to customers. It would seem in your best interest to give them a perfect rating to keep in good standing with the dealership if the latter was the case.
Guess What? I would love to forward your expierence to Toyota corporate! I too was told that anything less than excellent was unexceptable. WTF, I spent two days in the war room and was still hosed down! I payed the price,I did not get any special treatment. I will report and show the truth to corperate . They take advantage of everyone. If this Info ever made it to the top it would certainly change the outlook!

Go ahead man. I will call up my dad in the morning and find out exactly what they told him before i call up Toyota Corp.
i would definitely share your experience with corporate but first speak with the GM, sit him down and explain this situation and that this animosity towards your father is unacceptable. this has nothing to do with him, solely based on your experience with the dealership. i wouldnt even include your father in the conversation since you dont want them having any more hard feelings. my experience was great, took about 30 minutes. but that is very unprofessional of them to use information for personal things instead of as a tool to improve the customer service which is all those surveys are supposed to be used for.
Location: Well ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!

Re: dealership survey ?
Same experience here, as far as the salesmen asking me to give all 100%. I really did have a good experience as far as the sale went, but I was a little put off by them asking me to give all excellent ratings. He told me that it would be really bad for him if he got anything less than a 100% perfect score. Same spiel. Got the survey in the mail and didn't send it back.

HOOK'EM HORNS!
Down in town the bars are full and the drunks are picking fights...
My thots, based on experience:
1. The survey you were handed may be a dealership one, and not an official Toyota one.
2. Toyota typically sends you a mailer after purchase directing you to a website and the survey is completed online.
3. Related to #1 and 2, dealerships usually covet their survey scores--they get bonuses, special treatment from the manufacturer when their scores are high, and get monetarily punished when the scores are poor (including losing their franchise). The mailer you got could be a pre-survey, so the dealership can make things right before you fill out the Toyota official survey.
Anyways, I would complete the survey, and make sure you put your name on it so they can call you and make things right: maybe a call from the dealer owner and some free service coupons or s TRD supercharger or something.
I always held off complting the survey until I got everything I was expected (like add-ons such as window tinting). With my survey still outstanding I know I have leverage to make sure they see thru their promises.
And, a 60% rating is a kick in the gut for a dealership, since "Passing" is anything above like a 95% or something. Anything below is a "Fail".
Therefore it's probably good that the dealership sends out their own survey (my dealership actually contracts it out to a 3rd-party marketing company) so they can make things right before Toyota finds out.
