Pulley bearing?

4 of 38 respondents have had a failure that was A/C belt related

So, it all started with chirping huh? Mine has been chirping for a while now. I think it's the idler pulley number 2. Is there any way I can confirm which pulley it is by looking or by doing anything else?

I did power wash the belt and pulleys but the chirping is still there.

Re: HELP....have a new noise

I had a whine coming from the rear differential on deceleration throughout the 60 MPH range. Toyota changed the rear differential but the whine is still there, a little less intense and around 68 to 62 MPH. Turned on the FJammer, Rolling Stones and sub-woofer and the whine just disappeared. Whoda thunk?

Yes, that was/is me and it still does it. I've just started to call it purring.. nice kitty.. Ron

PS: Sound is really the biggest thing missing for "forum troubleshooting".. It can be done, just not very well

Glad you solved it. File this one under another "noise" thread.

Re: HELP....have a new noise

I had a sound like that and discovered that I had a leaf in the blower for the AC.

It's amazing the crap that gets collected in the in-cabin filter.
