Sign on for a PRE-BULGE fix!

Well, it sounds like Toyota may be working on a fix for trucks with bulges/rips, and may be updating the '09s. But what about a PRE-BULGE fix for those of us with '07s that want to keep ours, have no bulges/rips yet and don't want them?
I have 28K on my rig and no bulges yet, probably because I'm not too aggressive with my truck. But, should I get a little more risky, I don't want them! If Toyota can come up with a fix, looks like they must know what is causing the problem. Maybe beefier, more absorbent body mount bushings would help, or an additional frame reinforcement, who knows? I hope Toyota does, and I hope they'll come through in this way for us faithful, early adopters who want to keep our beloved first year FJs. I absolutely love my truck, and want to keep it and had plans to do so for the very long haul, and pass it on to my son one of these days. Toyota, I hope you're listening, and I hope some others on this forum will sign on here with an opinion, and keep this thread active so the powers that be will see it!

imho, Its a matter of time every, pre "real" fix will show this issue at some time in its life.

Give it time.. I have been watching a while, and its becoming more apparent that it is a duty cycle issue, beat the truck ... they (cracks and bulges) and seem to appear earlier than if you baby it.. but the budges and cracks will appear at sometime during the lifecycle of the vehicle ... in mine it was a run to northern california on interstate 5 that opened up the cracks, all though my FJ spends a lot of time off road. They didnt appear until this road trip. Go figure!

the good news is, the problem ugly as it is, does not appear fatal... yet.

I have cracks that have been happily riding along for the last 5k-10k miles, they are not in the fender apron yet, when they are, Longo will have one more in the shop. My advice would be to to use the truck as intended, and hopefully get some signs of failure to report to the dealer / factory before the warranty expires

watch the numbers on this poll for acceleration of the incidence as the trucks age, that will tell us a lot
