Ok getting all of my fluids changed including the tranny.

Dealer said since i give them so much business lol, there doing it for a 100.00 and the cost of fluids so i think thats a pretty sweet deal anyone else think so, by the way anyone no how much the fluids for the front, rear diffs and t-case along with tranny cost?

Im doing this because i went way over the limit in water and im thinking since its riding a little rougher now to be better safe than sorry. Plus im doing the scuba mod really soon so im just making sure there is no water in there to start with.

Re: Ok getting all of my fluids changed including the tranny.

Dropping the fluids and refilling is a cake walk. (Other than dropping the skid (4 bolts) to get at the front diff.)

IMHO I don't think they are giving you much of a break on the labor. Maybe if you added up the labor for each one done standalone they might be, but the vehicle is up on the lift once, they'll drop all 4 without lowering the lift each time. They can be real fast.

The ATF Type WS will cost you a little bit. Make sure your ticket says they used Type WS ATF in the auto trans. The rest, they'll probably use bulk dino for and it shouldn't be very expensive, but... whenever I'm at the dealer I always expect to be surprised; and not in a good way.

Re: Ok getting all of my fluids changed including the tranny.

I was amazed at how easy it is to change out the oil on the FJ, even more so now that mine is lifted. Rear diff is a joke as well, two plugs. One drainer, one filler. Haven't changed the transfer case or front diff since I don't switch it into 4wd often (even when I go off-roading I really don't need 4wd)

The things to remember: Before you drain the rear diff, make sure that you can get the fill plug out, if you drain it and then you can't get the fill plug out to fill it...you're screwed.

Re: Ok getting all of my fluids changed including the tranny.

Ok so i got my fluids changed today 265.00 out the door, front rear diffs t-case and tranny fluids. I was able to watch the tech do it, and all of the fluids had a little bit of water in them but not alot. So scuba mod will be on the list before anymore deep water. He also said with the little bit of water that it was fine for it no problems would of occured.

What kind of fluids did they use? If they were only charging you $165 for labor, hopefully you got all quality fluids like RP?
