Squeakeeee Wipers

For those of you from Arizona, there are three things on the outside of your windshield. They go back and forth to remove water from your windshield. Here in the Pacific Northwest we get a thing called rain. When it gets on your windshield we turn on the wipers and the rain comes off.
About two weeks ago my wife and I were driving in the rain and she said" well your wipers don't squeak"........ The next day they started squeaking and it's beginning to drive me nuts.
Help! What should I do?
Any room in Arizona?

Louder stereo? The blades might just need replacing, I've heard good stuff about the silicone wiper blades.

I also hear great things about the new rainx wipers. Also use some regular rainx to clean your windshield; it acts like a wax for the glass and not only do you no longer need wipers but it also helps with the way they slide

Re: Squeakeeee Wipers

I use RainX additive and wouldn't be without it . No squeeks or streaks . Don't even use the wipers above 40 MPH .

Re: Squeakeeee Wipers

I did the Rain-ex thing and what do you know. It really does work.
On another water related issue, have you noticed a waterfall comming off the roof when you make your first stop after a rain or dewey morning? It holds a bunch of water up there. Not complaining, just an observation.

Re: Squeakeeee Wipers

We were driving in the rain here (MN & IA) The wipers started to squeek. It gradually was getting worse as the day went on, now very annoying in town. I got to checking it out. It isn't the blades that are squeeking, sounds like it is coming from the area on driver side down in the cowel where the arm is attached to the motor or what ever is down there. Sounds like a squeeky rubber seal or something. I stopped at the dealer and of course they have never seen this before(Standard Textbook Answer) and will have to take things apart to check it out. Anyone else have this problem ?? I will post what I find out.

Re: Squeakeeee Wipers

When mine were squeeking I thought for a time that the noise was comming from the linkage in the cowling but after I used the rain-ex it stopped. If it starts again I'll zero in on the noise next time.
