Are you sure the Diff itself is leaking or could it be the axle seals. I just had an axle seal replaced and when I first found it it looked as if the diff itself was leaking. Upon further inspection the drivers side axle seal was leaking right at the housing. Between the diff and CV axle.

Well I tightened the plugs and sprayed it down with brake cleaner. I will watch to see if it still leaks. I barely got a 1/8 turn on em so i'm still leary of the seal.
It's definitly the seal where the two halves of the gearbox meet if anything, the puddle is directly in the middle. I'll keep ya all updated.

You and BoBoNel don't count. You two run over everything!
However, if it's the axle seals, or ESPECIALLY if it's more than one set of seals, I'd replace all of the front end seals at the same time. That may sound extreme, but it's at least something to consider. I very strongly doubt that you cracked the front differential housing if you have Budbuilt skids covering it.

slither,
I'm having this same problem same side. I just replaced the boot now my housing has a millimeter more play and leaking between the cv and diff, it also makes a slight grindin a 20 mph (the diffs not the bearings). The boys at toyota said it was cause my bearing is burnt. I told him i just had it calibrated before i re-installed it and he said still. So i ordered a whole new bearing just cause, but i still belive otherwise. The weather just turned to rain so I cant start ripping stuff apart now.
Basicly im asking if any of this sounds fimilar and if so how much did it cost?
