I like that jeep bumper too, but on the FJ I'd be worried about compromising the approach angle. The ARB setup the trail teams are using seem to stick out a little too much (IMO) already.

it looks somewhat similar to others, but hey, the more variety the better.
Then......should I expect to be disappointed or should I just be disappointed that I expected it? :D

That is by far the best looking of the aftermarket bumpers to date. The concept looks great. The lines on the lower half of the bumper are much more complimentary to the overall body design. Can't wait to see a prototype mounted to a real FJ. I like all of the variety out there. Different flavors for different tastes.

It looks like the All Pro bumper and the Bent Up bumper mated. I'd have to see it in 3D first. I would really like for someone to come up with a lower profile (dare I say heep style) bumper that doesn't swallow up the grill of the FJC. I like the look of the front grill to much to cover it up. Simple, compact, low profile that doesn't kill the approach angle too much. That's not asking too much, right?

That's what potentially makes it better! I'm keeping my eye on this one....

This bumper seems to address the issues that the competition is lacking...easy access to winch mount area for inspection, good recovery points, doesn't compromise approach angle, excellent symmetry to body style, width appropriate for width of vehicle, and not bulky looking like the ARB. It's pretty cool and has taken the lead in my book for aftermarket bumpers.

Go to post #61 for mock-up on an FJC: http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=93070

P.S. It would be greatly appreciated if some one can post the pics of the mock-up. I'm a computard and can't figure it out....

Tnegiet,

Thanks for posting the pics. In the thread, the fabricator also disclosed the fact that you can order it without a bull bar as well.

Can you also post the angled view in post#12? It gives a better perspective of the overall design.

TIA

Nice....still like the Allpro better I think, but the first one is nice looking. Second one is fugly
The Allpro is nice but looks out of proportion for the FJ...It's kinda like a face with little or no chin....

The first pic with the little bar is perfect for the FJ. Keeps the stout tough look going. Can't wait to see one in production. jfonz over at ih8mud has taken all of our ideas and come up with these two. Very good person to work with.
Yeah, I like the fact that they are doing research and spending time on a CAD machine BEFORE they go into production. It is a much more efficient use of design time and less wasteful of materials.

I like both of these bumpers, but would like to see them from an angle as well.

Question though - we've heard the reason the front bumper has to stick down this much is because of the radiator, and I noticed that the ARB bumper has a slit above the winch which I am presuming is for airflow. Would these bumpers need something like that in order to take full advantage of the big radiator (i.e. to avoid overheating)?

Here's the quartering angle.

Thanks for posting the quartering angle. I just checked the thread and they have some newer versions that "borrow" some of the design cues from the bentup creation. This is now my first choice...can't wait to see one fabed up.

Here are the latest renderings from jfonz at Expedition One. I think they are awesome, and can't wait to get one on my vehicle.
Sick, sick, sick, sick, sick!!!! Did I forget to mention that the Expedition One bumper is the sickest thing out there!!! These guys know how to design something that compliments the existing lines, has great "scale", and appears to be very functional/practical for the offroading prowess of the FJC.

It smokes the competition in my book! Look out ARB, Bentup & AllPro....there's a new Sheriff in town!

I'll order one as soon as they have 'em in production. I'm willing to wait and not willing to settle for any less then the best! These guys are spot on!!!
