While it hasn't always been the case, I've been living in the land of pavement for a long time now. The thought of getting off-road with my new FJ is crazy exciting for me. ...but I know what I don't know and don't care to destroy a $30K + vehicle the first time out. ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A GOOD OFF-ROAD DRIVING SCHOOL IN THE SOUTHEAST? Preferably in central North Carolina.

THANKS!
Might I suggest Harlan, KY April 4-6. There will be more FJs and other Yotas there than you can imagine along with a vast amount of off road experieenced drivers.
Man! This forum is the best place for good ideas and information. Thanks!
Harlan, KY is doable, distance-wise. Schedule-wise, I can't make it, but if that changes, I'll be there! Thinking ahead though to the next such event...are these things pretty kid friendly (11 year-old)? Or is the experience usually a bit intense for the young un's?
Any other suggestions are very welcome.

My 15 year old daughter insists on going. VERY kid friendly. It's our dad/daughter thing.
Wheeling is something that kids love. There were quite a few kids on the last outing and they all seemed to be having a good time. Just dont let them drink the lemonaide with Terry back at the hotel after the run.

Harlan would be good, but I noticed that the dates were bad for you. How close to Uwharrie? Bill Burke will be doing a FJ only event July 26th & 27th, I would really try to make this event.
Keep watch the South East Region & Smokey Mountain Cruisers Regional Forums for Trail Rides.

I can tell you that any ride that the Smokey Mountain Cruisers are involved will be kid friendly.
