Let me just say it was NOT a place you could go if it has rained recently!

Other than that, it's only about an hour drive from us, so we can go there pretty much whenever.

Yeah, we learned the hard way on the way out that when caked on, thick, AL mud has the chace to dry on your radiator, it makes your vehicle run hot!
Yeah, I learned the hard way too. The trooper in my avatar got cooked from the same thing. Thats why I'm done with big mud holes. Don't get me wrong I still like it when its wet but I just don't want to be deep in it.

On a side note, maybe I'll have a truck by the next time you guys go and I can go too.

Re: Mountain Side ORP

Today I cleaned out the pan under the gas tank. I think it weighed at least 30 pounds! I dropped the pan and used the pressure washer on it and the tank. Maybe I'll get more miles to the gallon and an automatic 1" lift.

Thats funny you say that because I have been cleaning the FJ for 3 days and still finding more mud. I told myself today that I should get 1-2 mpg better after all the mud is gone.

About 50-60 miles south.

From Scottsboro you'll go to Fort Payne and hope on I59 and then you'll get off on the Collinsville exit and go from there.

About 1.5 hours is what it looks like on google.

Re: Mountain Side ORP

That is not too bad. I'll be in Scottsboro for Memorial Day but wont be able to go. I am thinking maybe some time in June? Our calendar is filling up with off road dates, cool.

Re: Mountain Side ORP

I'm definately in favor of going back! (After Edward has the FJ diagnosed and fixed...AGAIN!) It's an easy day-trip for us.

There's a park (Nocalula Falls) a few miles away that is a good place for a picnic and you can hike down through the woods and behind the waterfall if anyone would be interested in that too...
