Alright, here's the deal. I got the cash for the all-pro coilover setup I want. However, every install quote has been over $400 and I just can't imagine spending that for install. The bad thing is I have no tools and no place to do it.....so......my question is, anybody willing to offer a garage + tools + expert tech skills for a reasonable price? food? Anything? The plan is that if I can't find anyone, I'll just suck it up and pay for install but go with the ome kit instead. Thanks everyone in advance! And if more than one person needs some install help, we can make it a meet and greet maybe?
edit - I'm located in the 909 - but don't mind driving too far as long as its not sd or anything.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but have you considered why a shop charges for their work ??? As you said, you don't have the tools ($$$$$$$), facilities ($$$$$), knowledge ($$$$$$), or experience ($$$$$$) in this type of work. This is what you pay for when hiring a professional to do the job. As a professional in this field, I'm biased, of course. And there is nothing wrong with doing your own work, or learning how to do it yourself - we all were new at this at one time. And while this may not be a prime example, alot of installation requires dealing with your safety and that of your vehicle - no small concern. Make sure whoever you have "helping" is someone you trust with your life. And ALWAYS use the proper tools when dealing with stuff that will undergo tremendous stresses in real life use - your safety may depend on it.
My point is not to deter you from saving money, or learning how to work on your own vehicle - but just as you feel you deserve what you get paid in your line of work, it's frustrating to hear how highly trained, experienced, and well-equipped mechanics aren't worth their price....
Good luck with your suspension - as you do more complex work on your vehicle, you'll develop more respect for professional automotive technicians.

I'm in Diamond Bar/pomona/chino hills area. Hemet is about 45 min from me I believe, so not too bad.
Cruiserlarry - I was in no way saying that mechanics are useless overpaid monkeys. I just meant that I simply can't afford to pay an extra $500 for an install. Trust me, if I had the cash, I'd gladly spend it on good service. However, my college student budget puts me at a disadvantage. Rokcrawler, thanks for the recommendation, but TAG quoted me at 240 for the front, 240 for the rear, and 90 for an alignment. Roo- for sure, the more people the better. If you have a place and tools, even better still! Thanks everyone!
Roo, were are you at, my place isn't the best place as I don't have realy any more room but if need I could move some stuff around. If we could meet up at your place and do it their I am game.

Man it's such a simple job as long as you're not changing your UCA's, even then it's pretty easy...wish I lived closer I'd hook you up. It only took 2 hours to do mine...with new UCA's. $400 to do that is a crime. Good luck
Where are you located? I could do the install for half that price.
PM me. You'd have to come down to San Diego. You don't want people "learning how to do this" You want someone that "knows how to do it!"
LOL you are funny frog. Location was said to be in the Diamond Bar area.
