pics + video + story: el mirage.

ok, so heres the story.

I ended up today at El Mirage OHV park/dry lake bed(best of both worlds) next to Adelanto, ca. I took the fj through sharp rock trails, sand trails, lake bed speed runs and of course, the off-road noobs first mistakes.

FJ perform flawlessly and only failed me once..err, the stock tires failed me. first time i've ever had to use the locker and it got me out of a sand pit with ease.

I came up to a steep soft sand hill, and got to witness a 4x4 explorer fail at climbing 4 times in a row. i put it in 4-low, locked it, and cake walked that hill. that felt good. did it two more times to let him know what truck is boss. he eventually never made it up

No real damage, some trail rash here and there, and a couple of cuts and small chunks on the stock bridgestones.

heres the only good video out of the bunch, my camera sucked and so did my other videos. the original pass is at 116.. then slowly 117 before governor kicked in, then the eventual second pass is about 90 something. this was at about 9 am, with almost no wind. the run was unbelievably stable out there.

Yeah, those tires are depressing. Any shots of the failing explorer? Good stuff.

BTW, for all of you out there who hate it when people speak anything but English in the good old US of A, El Mirage means The Mirage in Spanish.
