Re: Check list for San Felipe ,B.C

I was just down there in the Fall. You will really get to test your a/c out there!
They have a Arco Am/Pm there that they keep the temp at about 55 degrees day & night.
I don't know if you have been there before. But when the tide goes out it goes way out. Lots of fun running around on the sand!
Once you get out of Mexicali its pretty much straight nada. Yeah take alot of pics for us! And drink a few Dos Equis for me!
Oh BTW you wont need a 5 gl can unless you really plan on going offroad Big Time away from town. My old 93 351 Bronco makes it from Calexico to San Felipe on way less than a tank of gas. The Fj will make it with plenty to spare. Be careful if you go south & explore the various roads that lead to the ocean, the gravel shore is very misleading & you can get stuck.
Let me know when you want take a trip to Puerto Penasco Sonora Mex aka Rocky Point. That place is great! More things to see & do than San Felipe.

I would buy "Victoria" beer south of the border for a real treat if you see it; and you WILL need mexican car insurance: Oscar Padilla's MexicanInsurance.com - Print Policy & Go! Low Rates! Save! buy it online or just before you cross the border. Oh, and plenty of small bills ($5-$10-$20) for "la mordita", and say hola to any fine senoritas for me.

a large gun and alot of cash to pay off the crooked cops, we got pulled over for supposedly speeding down there in like '98 and didnt have any cash so they took our kayak and ripped the stereo out of the dash then let us go. I havn't been back south of the border since.

I wouldn't go alone. If you get out there on the sand and gravel & get stuck, it's a pain in the neck to find somebody to help get you out.

Bring a friend in an FJ with a rescue strap (and winch?).

nice man.., im planing a trip to puerto penasco on memorial weekend, also looking forward to riding the dunes.,
dude i prefer Pacifico, anyone who eats seafood knows that it goes best with pacifico the 1/4 size bottle, they are perfect for hot weather because they dont get a chance to get warm.
