Going to San Diego on Friday, any Great Trails I need to visit?

Im heading down to San Diego Thursday night for a cousin's graduation, and want to hit up some trails on Friday. Does anyone know of some easy/moderate trails with some great views, or some water in the area? Ill be with my lady friend and some kids, so something with a place to park and play would be ideal. Thanks!

Re: Going to San Diego on Friday, any Great Trails I need to visit?

There's really nothing too "convenient", although here's the most common and fun...

Anza Boreggo:
Head out 67 to Julian then 78 to Banner, turn off and take Oriflamme Canyon trail up and over the mountain to S2.

Oriflamme Canyon is easy that just about any decent ground clearance vehicle can make it across. Rodriquez Trail, which is a loop, is a little more difficult.

From there possibly head out to Diablo Dropoff, then down and out to Fish Creek. From there head up Sandstone Canyon and camp for the night.

Diablo Dropoff is also easy and any vehicle with decent ground clearance can make it.

Otay Mesa:
Take otay lakes road east towards the PIO PICO camp ground there is the trail head right there at the campground for the OTAY truck tail.

If you go to the end of H street or Proctor valley same road. It dead ends into a dirt road and some really good jeep trails. You can take the trail that goes up the mountain and it will dump you out back on otay lakes road. This is a jeep trail and you should take it nice and easy. Some parts are steep and some are tight.
