Re: Offical SoCal to Ouray (FJ Summit) caravan thread

I am going, but most likely will go over to Arizona and up. It is quite a bit shorter for me to go that way.

Also, I will be towing my trailer and hopefully have the FJ inside. So I really won't fit in too well.

But it is white and blue, so I may change the name to voodoo hauler!!!!

Worked on that damned thing all weekend, had to redo the floor and rear door just to get the truck inside, and then find out that the side cabinets are 1 inch too low. What fun!!!! Now I have to raise them and refinish.

that is what we are planning on doing (15 to 40). Your just up the hill from me so we could roll out to barstow together I don't think it would be a problem haveing the voodoo hauler fallowing us or if you wanted to take the 10 out you could meet up with us in flaggstaff if you wanted on the 11th to finnesh the rest of the trip off.

5green got you man.

Re: Offical SoCal to Ouray (FJ Summit) caravan thread

I am thinking I will go the 10 east. It cuts about 70 miles off the trip to Flagstaff, and the scenery is a lot better. 101 loop around Phoenix helps, but may go up through Jerome and Sedona..

Either way we will hook up at Flag for sure. I have driven the route from Flag to Durango many times. Just bare in mind the stretch from Flag to 160 is one of the deadliest highways in the world. The indian kids drink to much go juice and kill themselves there at an alarming rate. I have never seen so many crosses along a stretch of road. I know a few years ago it was over 170 in that stretch, and a highway patrol man told me that did not even get close to the actual fatalities. Not a road to be driven at night. Be careful is all I am saying guys.

I would do this but I have school Tuesday night... I'm going to probably Ironman the run and leave either after school (10:00pm) or early Wednesday morning.

Although iut would be cool to run in a caravan that large, I won't be going through Flagstaff. I'm taking a different route. Don't even think I'll be going through AZ. My track is a run just over 13 hours long. I need to hit Telluride to pick up my mom after I drop everything at camp. She'll be camping with us too.
