count me in! this would be a good way to check out other members mods etc.
That is one of the main reasons for this is so that we can all see what other peoples rigs look like to give us modding ideas.

already have a good idea for stickers.. and they are already made.
we can get a bunch of orange county chopper stickers (OCC) and just call it Orange County Cruisers..
ghetto.. i know.
thats actually not too bad, but i think i would like to keep it simple and easy. something along the lines of: SoCal FJs. I would like to be as origional as possible, but i really would like a sticker that had a pic of an fj and said Orange County Cruisers under it. that would be really sweet.

i think we should def hit that up, but not as a first meeting place. we need to go somewhere quiet so that everyone can give their input for club rules and ideas. i want this to be a positive experience for everyone, and that requires all of us to listen and be courteous to one another.

i have no idea for a first meeting place or when just yet. i would like it to be sometime soon though. we need to set a date that isnt too close and isnt too far away so that everyone can adjust their schedules accordingly.

Re: Enough is enough, SoCal FJs unite; The official SoCal FJ Club
Actually, I was only pointing out we have a strong SoCal presense
we are not exclusive, we allow and encourage all makes of 4x4s, but are 80 % FJCs
we do not encourage eastern county stuff, JUst how many places are there to wheel in western OC or LA county, Oh we had ahuge event in Hungry Valley 2 months ago
we do not have monthly meetings, but we do meet and wheel almost any weekend. and we are wheeling from the border to La Area a lot, we also have no president, or such, we are past the expenses of starting a site, buying software, finding hosting, getting past the regualr investment till stickers and tshirts are paying for themselves.
Good luck with the club, a lot of us will become members. any advice on getting a url, hosting, software, monthly expenses etc I can offer, figure we threw around 3 grand at getting our site up and running and we did a lot of stuff by donation, software and design alone cost us close to a grand, vbulliten is over $300,gallery is over $300, you will need to have a custom skin designed, over $200, and that just starts the expenses, with a gallery you will need to increase band width and purchase more storage space, or do as we did and aquire your own server. Band width always cost money. Then t shirts and stickers, shop these items really well, you will need to find a Quality supplier or you will end up with stuff that does not last. A good quality shirt is not cheap until you buy in bulk. I paid around 12 bucks a piece for the first ones,(printed both sides) we now buy by the hundred lot to keep cost down. And stickers, wow, we do 2 styles. one is only the color of the vinyl, cost around 70 cents each, we give those away, the other is a good quality screen print which will last a few years, not a cheap 3 month sticker, those cost close to 500 dollars a lot in bulk so we can afford them. So as you can see, you need a desire to form the thing a some deep pockets to get it off the ground. Once you are open around 6 months you can see that maybe after around 3 years the thing will break even.

Re: Enough is enough, SoCal FJs unite; The official SoCal FJ Club
thanks highbeams for all the info! i know it is very costly to setup a website, i used to have to do that a few years ago for other businesses. i dont think we will have a website just yet, we need to get started and established first. i have a guy that will cut me as much vinyl as i want for a few bucks and a sandwich. that would allow us to cut down on costs. shirts, on the other hand will be a bit more pricey. i have a friend that has been getting shirts made for a few years now for his business, his guy is cheap and makes high quality stuff.
i would love to have a bunch of fjs in this little club. hopefully we have enough people that the cost of membership is under $15-$20. that would get you a shirt, sticker, and possibly a little book with other members phone numbers and locations. having a group like this would also make it possible for us to have install meets. that would not only save many people lots of money, but allow people that dont know how to wrench a chance to learn.
