Re: Terrific day

I responded to this on another forum here it is for this one!!!

repost:
Nice i'm looking to install the AP rear bumper also but may wait to see what else is out there. I do like the clearance their products have been engineered to do. My rear reservoirs were rubbing on my tire @ full articulation in the rear (the dealer figured that out) not too badly but enough to see it was. So I have moved them 3 times now and I still don't think it's right. If you have pics of your positioning that would be awesome. With out the spacers on the wheels the reservoir is damn close no matter what you do. I'm considering today of remotely installing the reservoirs on the body of the vehicle just need to figure out the logistics involved to do so.
You will be really happy with the AP suspension it really is a great system, rock crawling, washboards, dips, valleys handles all of these sooo well it's scary. I caught myself going a little fast coming down a dirt road this suspension after it breaks in, is amazing!!!! I love being able to dial in what I want also.
For some reason now i have a popping noise in the rear primarily while taking right turns????? , I swear its' coming from the upper links form allpro too, it's so flipping hard to diagnose I'm going crazy over it. Everything has been lubed w/ a grease gun the only thing I can think of is one of the jimmie joints is binding up or something I know black cherry and ruebarb are having similar issues also. Terry have you had any issues with these on any of your rigs??? Maybe @ the summit you can hear what I'm talking about. It's not the drive train and not the locker, I just need some feed back. I also don't think it is going to be an issue with breaking anything, but while wheeling when you are listening for tell tale signs of breakage a large clunk pop in the rear scares the chit out of you

Well Fjamming you will be really happy with all of that I'm sure you already are you should see the mass amounts of articulation you will get from that system I have before and after pics on the trail to show differences from the stock version. Tell me if you would like to drool

Re: Terrific day

I can kick myself about forgetting the camera! I wanted to document it so bad. It was a perfect opportunity.

Well, it seems the rear shocks need to be rebuilt. Terry from AllPro replied to my inquiry about the clicks and said they would be covered under warranty but I do need to send them in. So... they'll have to come out again . I'm awaiting words on how long it will take get the work done. Might be easier to just hand deliver them and get some skids there at the same time. Still need extended rear brake lines and an alignment. I have a set of Tacoma rims at home that I never bothered to try on the FJ, but maybe that's a more economical position then going straight to beadlocks. 15psi on LTBs should be ok right? . I'll take some pictures of the FJ as it is right now after work.

Re: Terrific day

Just spoke to Terry. The rear shocks should have anywhere between 16-19 clicks. Anything less then 16, they need to be serviced. It will take them 1-2 days of receiving the shocks to do the repairs.

Re: Terrific day

lol Shadow cut me some slack! Anyways, I'll have plenty of pictures this time around. I'll have to pull them again. So document the rear install-not the full install, but just the rears . Now if I can sucker the old gang again... :P.

Re: Terrific day

You would've failed. Call AllPro. Sounds like it needs work.
