Be at the I-15 Cleghorn Road off-ramp (eastbound) at 9:00 am. People will straggle in, air down, etc. so if you're there a bit earlier it will just give you a chance to hang and shoot the breeze, etc. It looks like a good crew. I'll put you on the list and PM everyone who's expressed an interest in joining the trek on Wednesday or Thursday with my cell phone number in case there are any problems. Before I PM you, I'll check in with the Forest Service to insure that the road will be open.
Again, this is just a come, run the route thing, bring a lunch if you'd like and we can stop and chomp toward the end if it's not too hot.
Please count me in as well as a tentative attendee. Should be a go unless somehow I get veto'd by my wife or daughter. This would be my first "mountain trail" trip in my FJ (all off road drives have been desert trips up to this point) so nice to know there are some other newbies tagging along.
I intended to go up to the North Arrowhead and Big Bear area today on a recon run but couldn't make it. Tomorrow I'm booked up and I don't think I'll be able to do it before Saturday now.
I say we play it by ear and those that want to continue do so. Those who want to do the 1/2 day run can head back down the mountain from Lake Silverwood. It's not like that area is unknown to us.
Do you have any suggestions beyond that?
If we have 10 that say they'll be there tentatively, I expect to see 7 or so. We may loose half at Silverwood. So if we have 3 or 4 rigs that go to the top it will still be fun. Does that make sense? It will be nice to have you there. I now have a CB. If you are going, would you like to take point and I'll drive the clean-up spot in case we have stragglers or breakdowns?
