Re: I Spotted you in SOCAL Thread

Yesterday (Sunday).
On my way up to Orange County on the 15. A Black FJ with rr goes by in the fast lane (better never hear you complaining about you gas mileage --you were flyin')....but, it was the friendliest FJ hello I've gotten yet.
With the spotty traffic we ended up in a mini FJ caravan all the way up the 15 to the 91 west and then they went up the 71 (? toward Chino).
It was the longest time I've been able to follow another FJ and see it cruising down the highway---very cool.

Saw a Fusion in Mammoth this weekend...too far to wave at, and exchanged waves with a Voodoo in Bishop. Only 2 FJ's I spotted the whole weekend, including the drive up and back.

Kinda cuz Socal peeps own that mtn. The Norcalers go to Tahoe cuz its actually closer. BTW Oni, how much was your gas bill up and back? I take this road trip in the winter for the snow and want to know what to look forward to(sarcastic of course).

It was sort of a rhetorical question because you're right, most of the people there are from SoCal. But the mountain aint SoCal.

Re: I Spotted you in SOCAL Thread

Got snubbed by some people in a black one going up Magnolia Ave. in Corona on Sunday. Could it have been the same one that Atchie saw? I waved but they went by fast just looking at us. They still had the paper plates from the local dealer on their rig. I cut them some slack because they are newbie's.

Well...Mammoth ain't So Cal, but that's where I drove from. Lahaina, Maui ain't So. Cal. but that's where Desertcruiser is from.

So to be absolutely correct, I guess I spotted no one until I got to Central Cal. Sorry I didn't post it in a "I saw you in Central Cal." post.

Hanzo...I filled up in Mojave, drove up to a cabin by Tom's Place, putted around in the dirt by Crowley...went into Mammoth and then stopped in Bishop to fill up on the way home. Fuel light just went on...15.2 gallons to fill up. It was about 18MPG or so. 80+ MPH, A/C on the entire time. Filled up at the Arco...and it was cheaper than down here.

Probably not. They were going fast, but not fast enough to have the time to get off the freeway and back on before I caught up with them. Besides, they were all waving like crazy at me, a fellow FJ, and I'm sure they would have done the same to you.
BTW, I'm still sporting my paper plates from the Corona dealership, Quality Toyota. Did you get yers there?
