Re: I Spotted you in SOCAL Thread

Saw 3 different silver FJ's in Ballarat, and a Yellow with Demello front bumper and rockrails at the Barker ranch (Charlie Mansons last hideout). Kind of cool seeing so many FJ's in a place that is mostly Jeeps.

Spotted Acetechno in Westminster today around 2:15.
Had a nice quick chat with Yusuke41 at traffic lights in Cypress around 5:15. Your modded Black Diamond looks like it means business .
I wish that was me. At 2:15pm I was at the corner of Katella and Bloomfield in Cypress doing a satellite dish install with a co-worker. I was not back in Westminster untill 4:15pm. My wife stated she spotted you a few weeks back at 7-11 on Westminster/Milan She parked next to you. My rig has a big Camburg sticker on the rear window.

I got the time wrong. It was 4:15 and you were heading East on Westminster passing Bolsa Chica.

And, see post #1692

Ha, that was you! The yellow FJ was me!.. I was wondering if you were on the forum.

That 4-runner buggy that was with your group was pretty cool, I was talking to him about it for a bit.

Manson's cabin sure was busy now that all the news stories are out, I don't know how many "Tourists" we passed or talked to this last weekend.. we even came accross a passanger car back there trying to find it, they had missed it and were about to try going over the pass into Butte Valley before we turned them around and showed them were it was. We were thinking of charging $5 for tours.. LOL..

Night before we stayed in Stella's cabin, and here's a pict of the Geologist cabin when we stopped by there.. perfect weather this last weekend!

The rock buggy was my brothers, this was the shakedown run. Everything worked great except he developed a grinding noise in the 2nd transfer case.
That was probably the last weekend to wheel in Death Valley for a while, It was 98 in Ballarat when we got back to our trailers.

Yeah, we were thinking the same thing... still wanted to get out to Saline Valley again, but it's getting hot fast. Time to start moving up to the mountain trails where it's cooler... I was hoping to get another month of desert wheeling in before the heat hit, but it looks like it's coming early this year.

Nice work on your brothers rig, I like how he did it... someday I'd like to do something simular where I can load the kids in the back. Hopefully it's not something too serious with the 2nd xfer case. Does he have any info on the net on the build up?
