So I've finally seen my first FJ offroad! I was having some coffee, and enjoying the view from a lookout, and this big yellow thing pulls up next to me. It was Tankota, with the family! As we were finding out who each other was, I hear this, "Daddy, it's not a yellow FJ" and I think he started to cry. Apparently black FJs are scary to children!
Yup, that was us! I think my kid was thrown by that all blacked out look! And I've now seen my first TRD, and it was off-road too! I think I saw Cruiser Larry too on the way back, it was another big yellow one with lots of stickers, Gobi rack, black rims, etc! Waved as they drove by over by IHOP in Stevenson Ranch.. Wow, 3 nice FJ's all in one day!

Yep, that was me going down Pico Canyon Blvd by IHOP - I saw this yellow FJ coming off the freeway, and when I saw the KC's on top, I knew it was Tankota !!! Was just telling the family about our runs through Rohwer Flat, and showed my wife pics of your newly completed mods (I get excited about this stuff, but after watching me for 23 years in this business, she just shrugs and puts up with it ). It was nice to see you and your family again, even if only from a distance... Out here in Santa Clarita, there are alot of FJCs (mostly posers, unfortunately), so I've got my whole family on FJC look out when we drive around. I do see some on the long freeway drive to work, but I rarely get a wave back or any acknowledgement at all (its OK to wave, folks - we don't bite). hope we can get together for another trail run after the new year...happy holidays to you and your family !!!

this one is about a month ago but i was driving next to a black lifted FJ with all the goodies. I think it had either Revtek or another vendor door panel decal. this one was tricked out....the thing made my FJ look like a toy...
oh..it was on ventura blvd. in Sherman oaks.
hey james, yeah that was me. it looks a lot different from the first time you saw it huh. and it was a demello sticker, but now its an all pro.

i saw a voodoo blue FJ the about a week ago at about 11AM on topanga ave turning left onto venrura blvd. very noticable because it was bone stock except it had a gobe stealth rack and a gobi ladder

Spotted first modded FJ earlier today on Victory just east of De Soto...Voodoo Blue with a bull bar and bumper mounted offroad lights looked sweet...was gonna wave but I figured I'd look like a lunatic waving while riding shotgun in my g/f's beat up accord.
i keep parking right next to a bone stock voodoo blue FJ that seems to work at the dentists office when i go to play pool at the corner of roscoe and de soto

had a pretty cool spot the other morning. i was driving east on ventura blvd between de soto and winnetka when i spotted a voodoo blue with paper tags. i pulled up next to him at the red light at winnetka and he rolled down his window and first complimented me on my mods, and then proceeded to say how he drives a lot of really nice cars, but that the FJ is by far his favorite.
the light turned green before i could ask him if he was on the forum but i can only hope. and if you are, hit me up with a pm
