Driving down 2nd st. in Long Beach today. Infact a few times today. Saw a Silver FJ at the Stereo Store/Detail Center near Bay Shore Dr. getting a buffing job done. No Rack but had a Demello Bumper. Looked sharp!

That FJ would be mine. Got some heavy scratches down both sides in big bear a couple weekends ago and could not stand looking at them anymore. The detail place did a great job getting them out. Also have demello sliders on it.

Re: I Spotted you in SOCAL Thread

On the 91 westbound towards Yorba Linda saw one of the most disturbing sights I have yet to see in the FJ world. A BD with what appeared to be 22's or 24's with matching spare and a fully chromed out roof rack. I know, "to each his own", but it just makes me cringe seeing our beloved trucks treated this way. Couldn't take a pic since we were both on the freeway. I tried to swallow my disgust and look over to give a friendly wave but the windows were tinted super dark.

Those are some massive rims. Probably the biggest I have seen on the FJ's thus far. Not exactly my cup of tea but it's definitely different than all the FJ's we see on this forum.

Re: I Spotted you in SOCAL Thread

Was at the Westminster Mall at 7:00 PM buying a birthday present for the ole ball and chain. Parked next to a stock Silver FJ. Could of parked closer to the mall door but wanted to park next to this FJ instead. Came out to find a Hugh Luggie dripping down my Passenger side window and the other FJ had just pulled out and was drive towards the end of the lane. Yes I was way PISSED off.

Just about 5 parking spots over spotted a Brand New Black Cherry with a black cherry top. Other than that it was all stock. No plates either. Is this something new Toyota is doing?

That bites. Not everyone who drives an FJ is an enthusiast.

I for one tend to not try to communicate with drivers of stock FJ's. If their sporting mods... I know they share a common interest in the vehicles, at that point I'll open up and start talking.

I ran cleghorn this weekend.... I saw an fj40 (in okay condition) and pulled over and said "Hey nice FJ!" I continued down one of the harder side trails.... he met me on the other side just to tell me that his rig could do the same trail in a pissed off voice....

I was really trying to be nice in the situation and give him a compliment, however he took it the wrong way.

I hear ya man. I don't even wave anymore. I do look at other FJ drivers. Most of what I see are Women driving them now. I almost never see any tricked out ones that much. This is like my 5th run in with other FJ drivers and I never have provoked any of them. I honestly feel like putting a sign on my rear window that states' "Stock FJ drivers, If you don't like my rig that is fine, If you like it that is fine too. Please do not mess with my rig or deface it in any way. As I have no plans on defacing yours. I work hard for my money and enjoy the things I have put on my FJ. If you would like to know where I got them please leave a small note on the door and I will be happy to tell you where to buy them". I know a sign like this not only would look gay or bad it would invite people to do damage to my rig. So I guess I will have to roll with the good and the bad. Thanks for your comments.
