SWR meter

Update Sunday 10/11/07

Just installed my CB and bought SWR. Anyone out there can help tune in the antenna?

I am in San Juan Cap.

I think I just need a radio check.

Anyone? Please PM me.

Re: SWR meter

If you can't find a buddy to help check your local radio shack, if there isn't a radio geek (I am one so I can say that ) there they can usually tell you where a speciality store is. It usually isn't more the $20 to have it done.

Re: SWR meter

I've got a meter here in San Diego. It's easy to use and if you want I can ship it to you on Monday, you just cover postage to and back.

Re: SWR meter

Like I said in my PM, I can give you a hand with tuning your antenna at Borregofest.
The person who I lent it to should be returning it to me then.

One like this:

SWR-2T SWR/Power Meter

Fry's doesn't list it on their site. You want one that specifies for
CB/Ham use, and the cheapest one there will probably be fine.

The goal is that for a full-scale reading on the FWD position, you get
nothing in the 'REF' position. Do this tuning in the middle of the band,
say on channel 12.
