any good 4x4 toyota shops in socal

so you guys remember what happened to me, it turns out that the shop can't repair it for the estimate from their insurance so i need to find a new shop that will do the repairs, is there any shop you guys know personally that can do a good job thats not too far away from the o.c.? i am freaking out here because it took two weeks to tell me this and i am pissed. i think basically the insurance company is lowballing me for a mistake they are supposed to cover..this is a disaster, i just want my fj back..

Why do you have to fix their problem? Don't even contact your insurance company. They need to take care of this. You are talking 4Wheel Parts right? Make them pay for you to have it fixed at a location of your choosing. They need to pay for your rental as well. Go up their company management and let it be known that they've made a mistake on your vehicle resulting in a situation that has damaged your vehicle and almost killed you. Take care of this quickly and document everything.

Ask your insurance company for a list of approved repair facilities. That way, if it costs more, your insurance company will pay more. That's the way it works with State Farm anyway.

His insurance shouldn't be involved. They don't need to know that there was an incident that wasn't his fault.

I agree with Tony, you need to play hard ball, threaten with a law suit for even more then what is will cost them other wise. They need to take care of you for what happened.

They should quote you base on work you need to have done at a shop of your choice. Heck, have it fixed at the dealer. How did they come to the price? Did they even send out an adjuster? Go to your dealer and get a quote for what needs to be done and how much, then take that to THEIR insurance company. Crazy.

Re: any good 4x4 toyota shops in socal

You may want to call your own insurance company and tell them the story, and they may get involved and talk some sense into the shop's insurance company (these guys know how to talk to each other better than we ever can). A friend of mine did this in a similar situation and got some good results. This makes sense because if your car is not repaired to satisfaction, your own insurance company will have to cover potential future "incidents" when they occur. Try it, nothing to loose.

There was a big towing bill on this as well, right?

Are they trying to screw you out of paying for that as well?
