Came across a Ti FJ in Sand Canyon!

..Went for a little off road adventure Sunday afternoon with my girlfriend Mariah. Not sure what the place is called..but it is located off of Soledad Canyon Road. Passed the 14 over pass. (Take 14 freeway to Soledad, turn right). Make a left under the bridge/freeway and there are tons of hills.

As I was turning the corner, a muddy Ti FJ was leaving! A gentleman and his girl. I stopped them and they weren't apart of the forums. Turns out he had just bought the FJ and was testing it out!! Hopefully they will join, they are from SCV and I am in hopes of a new offroading buddy! Didn't get a number. Hopefully he will see this.

Any one else out there want to go 4 wheeling? I don't have any one to go with for local adventures! I am not into anything toooo crazy, just some good ol exploring and getting dirty. Maybe can teach me a few things, or just hang out!

Let me know, PM me if you want to exchange info. What happened to our SCV meet and greet?

Oh and by the way, the offroading was pretty fun, got really dirty! The place has changed a lot, used to go there with my Grand Cherokee 4 years ago and now that place is just a DUMP.

Not sure when I will be going back to Sand Canyon. I would love to go to Gorman, I am just overly busy during the week, and depending how the week goes, I am usually busy on the weekends. Sucks. I need to do some upgrades before I do any thing like the Miller Jeep (is it tough?) I need skids and sliders, and an OME lift. Should have them within the month, I am just lagging to pay off some small debt. Let me know a week or two ahead of time if you are planning on hitting up gorman or any other trails, then I can prepare

I am currently riding on a crappy spacer lift that the dealership put on..so I haven't done anything that will test my skills too much!

Let me know!

I feel your pain. Some of my upgrades had to be put on hold also.Ive done the miller jeep trail in my wrangler no problems just a little rocky.Maybe by Nov we could plan a trip we just need the right equipment if we get into trouble and give you some time to get your upgrades.

November will be perfect! I will have to tell my girlfriend to get time off from work, and that is enough time for me to clear my schedule! Mariah is my co pilot, she loves the outdoors, she comes with me everywhere (gotta love it )

I should be pulling the trigger on an OME lift beginning of October (paying cash for it) then the week after going to put the skids on credit. Possibly the Bumper and Sliders as well...but I might wait. The only reason the bumper and sliders go together is because I am going All Pro, and I don't want to make the trip twice!

Let me know what date is good for you. Is this a whole weekend adventure? Or a whole day?

Re: Came across a Ti FJ in Sand Canyon!

Where is SCV? (I'm in Sandy Eggo). Maybe a clean up trip should be scheduled? Or it, too, may be next on the ever growing extinct list. Sometimes I think we are our own worst enemy (or maybe it's just the young boozers), but the enviro-whackoes are looking for any excuse they can find to make their God, Mother Earth, reserved for knats, Rats, and Democrats! (Sorry about the last item, I know SOME Dems are rational people, but it rhymes well and is gererally true!)

We are about 2 hours north. Magic Mountain... Santa Clarita Valley. Take the 5N all the way.

A clean up trip would be awesome. How would we do it? get a group of guys together...and some 40 yard dumpsters from waste management?

Re: Came across a Ti FJ in Sand Canyon!

The general idea is just to have a bunch of folks show up with trash bags & a truck to haul 'em out...your idea is a good one too, all it would take is a phone call I guess to see if they would DONATE the trash bins (be a bummer if you threw the party & no one came). With that as your remedy, I envision a site far dumpier than I thought!
