What's a "Mod Party"?

I've been seeing those words tossed around here. I guess I know what it is, a few people getting together at a garage messing with thier cars and eating bbq/pizza/beer.

How are the dynamics of such a gathering? Does everyone's car really get worked on? Do tools get lost? Do threads get stripped? Does a guy eat while his car gets free labor then he takes off? I know a guy who went to mod parties and came out with a free labor on his Jeep but never got his hands dirty.

We're talking about $30k vehicles....not tupperware you know.

I'm just curious.

Re: What's a "Mod Party"?

The best part is getting your friend drunk and then putting their lift on your vehicle.
It's all fun and games until someone gets their eye poked out, then it's just fun...

Re: What's a "Mod Party"?

Not entirely acurate. Some of the parties are to take the tuperware off (not dishwasher or microwave safe)

Now wheeling with people who don't bring tools or recovery gear ....I would worry about more. I'm not fixing your stuff while you go for a swim

Re: What's a "Mod Party"?

$30k trucks like upgrades too!!!

First we get together(on a run or somewere) and check each others trucks out to get ideas....then we spend a bunch of money on parts so we can be cooler then the Jones'....
And If your like me...you're out of stuff to mod..so ya hang out and act like a fool and keep the grill hot.....
Alot of us have tools and the knowhow to do alot ourselves.....some live in a rental that won't allow there truck to be dirty...let alone be in peices....So with a little food...a little fun...and a bunch of people...you can get a whole bunch of stuff done....and go play in the dirt when you're done...

And that is a "Mod Party".....

Re: What's a "Mod Party"?

I thought it was when you got the Mod's together and bent them over...

Oh, wait, just a flashback to a prison movie that was on late the other night.

Why don't you have one and see what happens?

Oh, and you don't pay some idiot $90/hr to mess your stuff up. Why not spend $90/hr on food and beer and let your buddies mess your stuff up? :^)
