Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

I'll be leaving Laguna Niguel, @4:30am next Sat for this event at Pismo. Anyone interested in caravan? We can plan pick-up points on the way there.

I'm interested in going. I won't know for sure when I'll leave until it gets a bit closer though.

Re: Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

I was not planning to go, but with the big bear cancellation, I am thinking this may be my only big run this fall.

I will chime in on caravaning as we get a little closer, I am in Mission Viejo.

Do most camp for this deal or what??

Re: Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

I would not suggest camping if you can get a hotel somewhere nearby. It's loud, noisy, and cold. People will be buzzing around all night and unless you're really off to the side, you might even have people fly by your tent. I've yet to decide what I'm going to do. I don't know yet because I'm not sure how many people will be going with me. If solo, I wouldn't mind sleeping in the FJ.

Re: Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

Looks like our plans have changed a little.

We are going up on Friday morning, staying in a hotel Friday night and then need to be back in LA for a concert Saturday night so will leave Pismo as late as possible to still arrive on time for the show. We may, or may not, go back up on Sunday morning.

Most camp on the beach, after a nice camp dinner and a few drinks , night runs are optional, but fun.

Re: Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

Yeah the caravan thing sounds like a good idea. Will check back in to this thread as we get closer. My wife and I are planning to leave early Sat morning as well.

Re: Surf-n-turf Oc Caravan

So the message I'm getting is that most will be hoteling it.......I was thinking about dragging a tent trailer but maybe hoteling would be a better/more civilized option.
