Re: FJ Cruiser MPG

I get on avg. 22 mpg. I drive most of the time 45-55 due to street conditions. I don't drive freeways, becasue work is close. I run 87 Arco gas. Lift with mudders. 4x2 AT, CAI intake, and cat back exhaust. I have found that 55 seems to be the sweet spot. anything over 75 mph you might as well give your money to a homeless guy. Because at that speed you are getting the worst possible milage you can.

I agree, speed is a definite factor for me. I have a lead foot which equals most of my wasted gas.

Re: FJ Cruiser MPG

I've been averaging 21 MPG per tankful, about 50-50 freeway/street driving. I get better mileage with cruise control on and set at 65 mph in the slow lane - I hope I don't get rear-ended in the slow lane!!

Re: FJ Cruiser MPG

another mpg thread.....

I'm getting aroud 16mpg stock dunlops, 3" lift and gobi stealth rack. mixed freeway and city driving, lower on the trails. Was getting up to 22 mpg before the rack/lift, but I never really baby the thing, nor do I romp the heck out of it either....

Question Re: FJ Cruiser MPG

I am getting near 23 at 60 mph. If I drive faster then of course my mileage suffers.

Anyone heard of the Cat modification to heat and vaporize the fuel? There is an interesting vid on it at

Re: FJ Cruiser MPG

I average around 17. Anytime I go over 75 mileage really suffers.
