In general, the upper rear links do not have to be replaced. That discussion can take up an entire thread, but unless you are racing or driving like a racer you probably don't need to change them. I am sure that others with strong opinions can weigh in to offer advice and opinions and maybe some facts (exactly how many inches or degrees of articulation was gained).
For the lower rear links there are lots of options available.
If the stock articulation is fine for you (OEM rubber bushings) you can either reinforce your stock links with weld on sleeves or replace them with the All Pro square tubed Ultimate links utilizing factory rubber bushings
There are lots of lower links with fancier joints that can give a modest improvement to articulation. I wanted to keep the factory ride so I bought the Ultimate links. I also did not want the extra maintenance of the various other joints (greasing, etc.)
Yes, I drive a 4Runner and the FJC and 4Runner both share the Toyota Pradio 120 series drivetrain and suspension components so aftermarket mods are virtually the same.
