All Pro Rear Bumper Install

Going to be installing my Christmas present this weekend, an All Pro rear bumper.

I have reviewed the install instructions on thier site and it looks fairly straightforward, my only concern is the cutting of the rear panels. Looks like you get one shot at this and it could really effect how good the install looks. The instructions basically say, "cut it like this".

Any of you guys that have done this install have any pointers on getting that right or anything else I should know before diving in?

All comments appreciated as always.

Thanks

Rick

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

rick, if you lived any closer, i'd be happy to help you out...just installed the rear bumper last weekend.

just err to the side of conservative, and you should be fine. you can always cut more out, but can't put it back. the pictures and directions from all pro, while grainy, are sufficient.

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

Exactly what GTK said. Search on the forum for pictures. When we did the rear bumper install, I was fortunate to not have to trim the plastics (straight swap). Besides the trimming, the install is very straight forward. Careful with the rear sensors.

I'll be out of town this weekend or I'd head on over and give you a hand.

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

I just put one on last month. Be careful with the cuts and you can always cut more. Test fit it a few times to make sure. The other issue I had was with the "self tapping bolts" pain in the back side. I lined it up and marked it but when I removed the bumper and drilled only 5 of the 8 holes worked for me on the refit. I know a few guys have not added the side bolts at all with no issues I also used a tap set rather than the self tapping bolts. If you had any questions please PM me and I will help as needed. Once cut there are still factory thin ovals cut outs in the plastic just above the All Pro bumper corners these made it look unfinished to me. I used some mastic tape (it is a rubber like tape in one inch strips that I cut to length to cover the holes). I got it at home depot I don't have pics but it finshed it off. Overall I am happy with the bumper fit I need to get a wheel spacer for the spare I have 285/70/17 and there is a slight rub at the bottom.

Good Luck

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

Thanks for the input guys. I guess it is just chip away until it looks right.

I will post some pics of the outcome.

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

if you have a sawzall, that will make the install/cut go much faster.

Re: All Pro Rear Bumper Install

There is a piece of foam on the back bumper. Remove it before trying to put the allpro bumper on. Im not sure the instructions state this.

the instructions don't state it, but it becomes pretty evident that the foam is not required.

Definitely, if you attempt to put the allpro on with the foam still on.
