1- Depends on how much control you want. You can get one switch to control ALL the lights or perhaps two (one to control the outside, the other to control the inside2)
2- as for difficulty, all depends on what you're comfortable with. I like to tinker so it was pretty straight forward to me
3- You can DO Major damage if you short out something, but with some precautions it's pretty safe.
4- installation all depends on how you wanna approach the installation
4a- go down the a-pillars
4b- drill a hole in the roof
4c- go down the back door
I went with 4c, for several reasons. I didn't want to drill, many people have said going down the a-pillar has many disadvantages including small amt of space and possibility of flexing and chaffing of the wiring.
I recently finished up wiring my lights (going to the back) and it wasn't that difficult. (had my lights installed and NOT hooked up for about 6-7 months!)
1. I ran a power wire from the battery to the rear compartment (where the tire jack is)
2. hooked it up to a fuse block (Blue Sea)
3. ran all my rack mounted wires to the back end and through the back door conduit into the tire jack compartment.
4. all my relays velcroed inside and trigger wire up front to the switches!
As for switches, to keep the OEM look there are three that I know of
1. Tacoma rocker ($12)
2. Tacoma push button, like the one you linked to
3. OEM FJ switch - has an indicator light (most expensive)
I used the cheaper $12 switch and installed them into the panel next to my steering wheel.
Good Luck!
