We have a big group signed up for the Summit this year. So I want a big group for our caravan as well.
FJ Summit dates are July 16-20 thats a Wednesday through Sunday. From what I can tell the 16th is just a registration and kick back day. Last year we rolled in to town around 1700 or 5:00pm the day before the summit and I would like to do that again so we have some time to relax and get situated before everything gets rolling on the next day.
PLAN
Travel route this year will be the 15N to the 70E to the 50 to the 550 taking us through Nevada and Utah then into Colorado. It is a beautiful drive so have your cameras ready. Total mile for this trip is 759 mile(~11+hr) We will make this a 2 day trip. Route on Google maps We will keep speeds around the posted speed limit 65 - 70 to try and conserve gas. Also if the guy infront of you is ok with it I will recommend drafting I know I am cool with it. I am kind of hoping for a rotating lead driver while the guys in the convoy draft the guy in front of them but that will have to be up to each person.
Day one (14th); Meeting place: In-n-Out parking lot at 0800 - 0845
There are other places to eat and a gas station right by in-n-out so if you want something else to eat and need to fill up the gas tank you can.
Route: Leaving at 0900, the days trip will take us through Vegas into Utah and end in Richfield Utah. (440 miles, 6+ hours) We should get into town around 1800 (giving are selfs a couple hours extra to eat, pee and gas up, change diapers... Check here for places to stay.
Day two (15th); Meeting place: Chevron 1357 N Main St Richfield, UT 84701 at 0900 ready to go(that means you already ate and gassed up the FJ) This is on the north side of town by the freeway.
Route: We'll be taking the 70 E head for Colorado This leg of the trip will be very nice, a very beautiful drive about 321 miles and 5+ hour drive. Adding a little time for food, gas and pee breaks we should be rolling into Ouray by 1600 (4:00pm).
