Arrow Camping Information / Stories

What are some of the places you people go camping? I have never been camping before and wonder if certain places are better than others. So tell us where you go camping, if you recomend it, and any other info for the rest of us noobs would be appreciated (pics work well)

I want to plan a camping trip but have no idea where to begin. All i know is dont wanna drive more than 2 hours (from Montebello - 90640)

Any camp sites with near-by 4x4 trails?

Thanks!

Re: Camping Information / Stories

Well, within two hours drive, there are TONS. Let's narrow it down a bit...

What type of terrain would you prefer to camp in?
Beach, desert, mountain?

Do you want to be close to a city area with plenty of places to shop and eat, totally away from it all, or something in the middle?

What kind of camping do you want to do? Tent, camper with hook-ups, camper with no hook-ups?

Camping: Tents and i'm not sure what 'camper with hook-ups' are

I found some mountainous places to camp online but i just want to know where people here actually go. If certain places are better than others, and if there are any camp sites with 4x4 trails nearby.

THanks

Try the Big Bear area. Lots of campground options and many trails. I camped up there last month and it did get very cold (32 degrees at night). So you may want to plan something when the weather gets warm.

Yep, Big Bear....

This one is on the back side, in the middle of no where. It has toilets and water though. Great spot for 4x4 and tent camping.

Here's some pictures of a group of us that stopped at this campground during a recent run. We didn't camp. It was completely vacant at the time.

This is on the road just outside the campground. It was getting dark, and the cloud/fog was rolling in...

Info on our run through that area is here...

Re: Camping Information / Stories

We use to camp up at Gorman. We would haul the dirtbikes there too. In fact the last time we were out there trail riding some clown crashed into the side of my truck and didn't leave a note....just a nice dent with red stripes.....

and that's all I have to say about that...
