How low was your pressure? Eric, get the Bill Burke video (Getting Unstuck). Great demos of how to get out of jams.

No air down at first then down to 20 then down to 10. I'm not sure about Jerry but we put him down to 10 eventually.

Poker, were you using the same tires last time? You have much more aggressive tires this time out don't you? That makes a big difference. I wouldn't dare take the LTBs there.

I have 285 Nitto TG versus 265 Nitto TG from last time. I think the rig is fine. I'll blame driver inexperience on my part this time around.

We enjoyed Pismo and I look forward to having lots of fun with you all at SnT 2008

Almost forgot

It was nice seeing you again Jerry (and meeting your friend). Thanks for keeping cool in the dunes.

Re: Oceano Dunes (Pismo to some) this Saturday

Thanks again Eric for trying to help me out and in the process your rig got stuck.

A nice guy in a Jeep came by with his winch and offered to pull me out. I guess the problem here was that we didnt have a long enough tug rope. I got one of those old fashion hook straps (time for an upgrade).

My air pressure was about 18 pounds while I was going around the dunes. As for the part I got stuck, I was following Eric and it was a upward slope I built up speed in hopes that I wouldnt get stuck but I did.

Re: Oceano Dunes (Pismo to some) this Saturday

I did those dunes on a trip back in March, found I had to stay reved in 4 low, then it became an amusement park. Got stuck once because of accidentally hitting the atrac button.

I didn't air down at all and was able to drive across the face a few feet from the top of the biggest dunes there with no problem at all, the only hairy part was not realizing the slop of the face of one as we were blasting up from the bottom of a bowl, we probably caught 3-5 feet of air when we jumped over the ridge...taught me to check a little more carefully before raging up the face of a huge dune.

Going again in a few weeks, can't wait!!!

Re: Oceano Dunes (Pismo to some) this Saturday

Sounds like you guys had a blast! I don't think you can go to Pismo & not have a great time.

Glad you guys got unstuck. Stuck of any kind usually sux.

Did you say you guys got stuck even though you aired down to 10 psi? Or was that after?
