click street view (only availible if your street is highlighted in blue) then pan around 360

Exactly what FJWirfel said, with visual aids....

First, open maps.google.com, and find the area you want to try and check out.
Second, to see if there are streets available, push the Street View button (top red box on image below) and see if there are any streets highlighted in the bluish/purplish hue.
Third, move the Google Man (in the lower red box in image below) around to the street and spot you want to see.
Fourth, use the mouse to click-hold-move the image that shows up (highlighted in the red box in the center of image below)
