Wait wait wait, I've been through Gartel many times and I don't recall seeing anything that resembles a trail
There's not a trail, but there's plenty of room to play up in those hills!

Re: Holy Jim, the Shakedown Trail.

Not sure if this is gonna work. Just as you pass the airport on the left (north) side is a turn out with a trail and you pass a few houses. At the end is some werid House/church/office building with paved parking lot. Do you know what that is???

Very nice Dom.

My buddy's almost-brand-new FJC doesn't have diff lock nor A-trac (no substantial skids, no sliders, & no lift, for that matter) Is it do-able, staying on the main road? I am looking for an easy trail as an intro to 4-wheeling for him.

Re: Holy Jim, the Shakedown Trail.

Here is the turn off for where i was. 33.671854,-117.559236

I have not done the whole thing yet, only the first mile. Sometimes the gate is shut, sometimes it's open. But if it is shut, its locked with a pin, so all you need to do is pull it to unlock it.

Unlock it at your own risk..
