Re: SoCal Census

Eastside Costa Mesa rocks. 1 mile from the beach, 1 mile to major freeways, 85 miles to the mountains, 120 to the high deserts. 100 miles to another country. Semi affordable homes, middle class. I live in paradise.

Re: SoCal Census

SoCal rocks all the way around. You can surf in the morning, snow ski in the afternoon and wheel in the desert (with overheads on) at night. We have it all. Now if there were somehow 1/3 of the present population and the orange groves returned, I'd be happier. But I guess you can't have everything your way.

Agreed...Things were so much better 30 years ago....I used to play in the groves as a kid.

Re: SoCal Census

I shot rabbits in Trabuco Canyon and used to ride my motorcycle all the way to the top. That is ALL long gone.

Re: SoCal Census

My dad tells me stories of how he and his cousins used to shoot rabbits and coyotes on my families vineyards.. Which are now Rancho Cucamongo, Upland, etc.. Now if you fire a gun in the open desert, you go to jail.

Oh and he also told me that when he graduated from newport harbor high in '67, Costa Mesa was an English speaking city
