My day at Hungry Valley SRVA

After opting not to drive all the way to Pismo, and bagging Ocotillo due to heat, (all these great Labor Dat weekend options!) I settled on Hungry Valley (I had never been). It's pretty easy wheeling but I had a real good time.
And yeah, that hill WAS that steep (5th pic from the bottom).
The FJ really is incredible

That looks like lots of fun. Is Hungry Valley near the Grape Vine (5Fwy)? How long of a run did you go on? Anyway great pictures!

Re: My day at Hungry Valley SRVA

Hey here's the link to Hungry Valley:
Hungry Valley SVRA

It's a really great park with lots of variety for off road adventures (steep, easy, hard, rough, sandy, narrow-you name it). I can definitely see how this place would be incredible in the winter, with water crossings, mud and snow.
I was there for about 5 hours (it was hot!), but I managed to do about 30 miles of driving inside the park.
I took the FJ through some really fun trails including a large portion of the poweline trail. It was a great day in the dirt and I'll go up again anytime someone wants to meet up and go.
The park is only 15 minutes north of Pyramid lake right off the I-5. Super easy and convenient to get to from anywhere in LA and it's only $5 for a whole day of wheeling.
Also, it's $10 if you want to camp the night-which could be real fun if a bunch of us wanted to hook that up.
I'm uploading some videos to YouTube and as soon as they're loaded I'll post the links here.

Re: My day at Hungry Valley SRVA

Nice video, keep them coming. It looks so nice up there. And it is really close to me. I would love to go up in the Fall. Just give me a heads up and I'm in.

Thanks
