HI SOCAL!!! Apart from MSRP, what other charges?

Hey folks, first post here! So far everything looks pretty cool. I've never been into off-roading (always had sports cars...nsx, s2000, rx-7, viper etc). I'm getting ready to take plunge into a whole new realm.

I'm thinkin of trading in or selling my Viper for an FJ. I know I shouldn't be trying to find an FJ under invoice or MSRP (probably too soon for that). I don't mind picking one up for msrp, but with all my other dealerhsip expereinces, they start unloading all this other crap onto you (taxes, destination charge, etc, etc).

I did a search and it seems alot of you guys are getting them at MSRP, but no one mentioned additional "hidden" charges. What am I going to be facing?

Thanks in advance.

It's finding one right off the truck before the dealer puts his special touches to it! Unless you want the extras... just say no! we went to the back lot where i'm sure it was in line to get it's bling, we just wanted it as is.

Thanks sandabbe. Yeah, the one I have i mind is 6-spd with cv either package 1 or 2 and side airbags. What were the other things they charged you? Did they nail you with the destination charge? dealer BS?

Try the online sales group at Rancho Santa Margarita Toyota, Jeffrey. He ordered mine and I took delivery in March, one of the first shipments for MSRP, just as I ordered it, no mark up.

Thanks rfjtoy. I'll give them a call. Apart from paying for the car, taxes and dmv fees, what else was there? Sorry, I've never bought a new car before.
