So, here's the dealio... went out to Azusa with Kennyv70, Vince/Volhoo, Ken-Fontana and Ben (BioWorkZ) see: Great time had by all!!
My lovely and beautiful wife is throwing a "BABY SHOWER" at our home in Redondo this Sunday July 5. I love kids and all but have been given full license to head out!
I'm itchen to get out of the house with Zzyzx:
Anyone interested in heading out for a day run in? More of a "destination trail" than just one area to get dirty. Anyone up for making this a great get together for the day?
Any thoughts?
Any ideas?
Any suggestions?
D13, did you PM Vince to see if he's in for Sunday? He seemed interested, see if we can't wrangle him out for the day. I know we threw around Main Divide or Wildomar as ideas.
I'm now at 85% (5% got added, Monisha just called to say she really wants to go), I'll get the 100% by this Friday. Once I get the "boss" to greenlight, I'll go with whatever is decided, just keep me posted.

Hmmm......so many choices?
Thought you were going to be at the bottom of the Grand Canyon this weekend? Or are you making it back in time? The more the merrier!
good on pass to leave....I am not exactly sure when this crap about men attending baby showers, wedding showers, and stuff started but it sucks. Screw that..... A guy here was invited to his wife's bachelorette party and she and her friends went to his bachelor party..>WTF. This metrosexual crap has gone too far.....
Brock! Too damn funny!!!
I actually usually go to these types of things and have fun. What's so bad about being surrounded by a house-full of gals??? That's actually fun. Now when it comes to the baby stuff, I just stomach it. I'm just glad to not have to be there this time and have a great reason to get away... my FJ!
So does that mean your lovely and beautiful wife is the mother of a 17 year old? I find that equally hard to believe.
My daughter is from a previous marriage. Lucky for all of us, my current wife and my daughters mom are good friends. I'm a very lucky man to have no animosity between any of us.
Okay, so here are my suggestions. I've pretty much rounded up the trips to be in either of these 2 locations: Inland Empire, San Bernardino area or Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead area. Below are info that I've paraphases from "Guide to Southern California Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails" by Charles A. Wells
(Easy Trails)
1. Cleghorn Ridge (15 mile drive about a 2 hour trip scenic drive)
2. Willow Creek Road (7.4 mile drive 1-2 hour trip dense forest open meadows)
3.Butler Peak (4.8 mile to the peak, return route slightly longer 2 hour trip 8400 ft climb with a steep hike to the lookout tower with a spectacular 360-degree views)
4.Skyline Drive (13 mile drive 2 hour trip. Many great side roads suitable for any SUV. Fun drive with great scenery)
(Moderate Trails)
5. Grapevine Canyon (22.8 mile drive 2-3 hour trip suitable for stock 4x4 SUVs. Pass through charred forest before descending into dramatic Grapevine Canyon.)
7. Clarks Summit (30.1 mile drive 4-5 trip. Steep and narrow in places, especially on the descent from Clarks Summit. Full-size vehicles may get brush marks. Western portion has soft soil, increasing the possibility of boulders breaking loose and rolling onto the trail. Most stock 4x4 SUVs with skids plates can handle the trail. Route-finding is complicated but roads are well marked. Don't drive this trail if you are squeamish about heights.)
8. Rattlesnake Canyon (32.3 mile drive 4 hour trip. Soft sandy soil through a narrow canyon susceptible to flash flood damage. A remote and little-known trail that passes through a non-wilderness corridor of the Bighorn Mountain Wilderness Area. Exit route goes by Pioneertown, built in 1946 as a movie set for countless western classics.
If anyone is aware that any of the trails above is closed, please let us know. Thanks...I hope this info helps us decide for this coming Sunday.
Oops, I just realized that I didn't touch on the Santa Barbara, North of Los Angeles, Hungry Valley area...so here it is.
(Easy Trails)
9. Santa Ynez Peak (26.3 mile drive 3 hour trip. Great views both north and south. Foggy in the morning, afternoons are the best.)
10. Agua Caliente Springs (30 miles from hwy. 18 miles back to the turn for Gibraltar Road. The drive down Rattlesnake Canyon is another 7 miles 4-5 hour trip.)
11. Alamo Mountain Loop (42 mile drive, 3-4 hour leisurely trip. A scenic relaxing mountain drive that climbs to cooler temperatures above 6000 feet. Dry camp in shady forest. Watch for wildlife.)
12. Liebre Mountain (12.6 mile drive 1 hour trip. Trip can be extended another 10 miles by continuing on Sawmill Mountain Rd, F.S. 7N08 to Lake Hughes. Stressless drive with great views along both sides of a high ridge. Several side roads to explore. Hike the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail which crosses the road several times along the same ridge.)
13. Sierra Pelona Road (17.6 mile drive from pavement to pavement, 2 hour trip. Climbs high to the ridgeline of the Sierra Pelona. Most of the route is inside Rowher Flat OHV Area. Lined with many hay bales for safety.)
(Moderate Trails)
14. Pronghorn Trail (12.7 mile drive, 1-2 hour trip. Great look at Hungry Valley OHV area. Manmade 4WD Practice Area on south side of park. Has easy, moderate and difficult practice hills.)
Do you need an invite to register for the socalfjcruiserforum? I registered yesterday and I got an email today that my registration was deleted because I didn't meet membership requirements. WTF?!?!?

That's strange, you don't need an invite, I think at most they send you an "activation" email that you connect to. Is it possible that was auto sent to you and you missed it? Then you got the "delete" message?
Here's the link from the FAQ's about registration. It mentions there is some "mandatory" info, don't recall what that would have been, but maybe when you go back in to re register you can double check to make sure you completed it correctly:
