Maybe not if you have a few 4wd FJ buddies that are willing to pull/winch you over every semi-difficult obstacle. I don't know the trail you asked about, but last weekend we pulled a 2wd FJ over a bunch of rocks and up a bunch of ledges. Ledges seem to be the end of the road for an unassisted 2wd.
Edit: If you do it, don't even come back without pictures!
We've taken a 2wd through a pretty gnarly canyon in Vegas. We were amazed how well he did. He had a locker which made it possible. Without one, he wouldn't have made it.
In November I'm down to give it a run! I have a winch, d rings and tow straps. Part of the reason I have them. Can't catch hell with a 4x2 FJ, I've done amazing things with mine in the dirt and am blown away every time with what I manage to climb up, over and down. Have to agree, if you don't have a rear locker? It's a pretty dismal day in the dirt.

Berdoo Canyon Trail

The Berdoo Canyon Trail starts at Joshua Tree National Park Geology Tour and ends at Dillon Road in a loop formation. This trail passes through the Berdoo Canyon and the terrain is sandy and has a difficult rating of 4.
Accessible the year round, with the best time to travel between October and June the route passes by some very scenic locations.
At the start the trail goes southwards into the Little San Bernardino Mountains and then ascends the bajada into the Berdoo Canyon. This section may be a challenge as the sand is loose in many places due to the rainfall.
Once you enter the canyon you find yourself in the wash. The drive takes you further with towering canyon walls on either side and there is not much vegetation along the way either. Yet, if you observe closely you will see wildlife like woodrats, coyotes and birds of prey.
In the difficult sections drive through carefully to avoid any accidents.
As you near the end of the trail you come upon the old Berdoo Camp. At the moment all you get to see are the concrete shells of the old building. The trail then takes you onto a paved road and out of the Berdoo Canyon.
Campers should camp in the designated campgrounds only and nowhere else.
I did it a couple times in my stock '93 Pathfinder when I lived down there, but it was a 4x4 (with less clearance though). I think you could make it OK. Great trail though. As I recall the most difficult section was near the Dillon road end, so you might want to run it back into the park.
Yes, I have done it in my FJ without engaging 4WD. Especially if you run it north to south...There are only a couple of sections that will challenge you at all.
