Re: Anyone familiar with the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas?

Phelan, good point. I must say I have met a few people that were really rude and when they ask about AR, I tell them it is a pit and should always be avoided! (I leave out that we live in the 7th fastest growing metro area in the nation-the secret is out I'm afraid)

I think I saw something about that area in DELIVERANCE... an informative movie about that colorful Ozark culture. You might think about renting it before venturing anywhere near there. Just a thought.

LOL I was thinking the same thing! maybe bring lube?

Re: Anyone familiar with the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas?

My friends and I float the Buffalo River in Arkansas almost every spring. Last time we went, we heard banjo music from around the next bend.

We paddled very, very fast from that point on

Yep....the Buffalo River is an absolute blast! I'd love to get back there sometime. Beautiful scenery and decent rapids!

Talking Re: Anyone familiar with the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas?

There are a lot of places to ride, yes; check out Blanchard Springs, along with the White River, Bull Shoals Lake and the Buffalo River. This is some of the best off roading in the country. I bought 80 acres here about 10 years ago; it's the last Diamond in the country. I don't take my FJ in the woods just yet, I take my "Bubba Magnet" This is what my wife calls it, because any time she takes it to go shopping, she comes out and there are a crowd of guys standing around checking it out.
