There's a possibility I may be going to Keesler AFB in Biloxi at the end of January for about a month. Of course I'll be bringing the FJ so I'll need some ways to pass the time on weekends. Any one that is interested in wheeling with me, or even knows of some places for me to check out, let me know. I've been to Biloxi several times, but never with the FJ so I have no idea what the offroading is like down there. Any help is appreciated.
I'll double post here also to see if anyone wants to chime in with some local info since I just got to Biloxi myself.

FJimmyCruiser13, just got to Biloxi myself. Still at Keesler AFB lodging and waiting to move in a house, hopefully by the end of the month. Eglin AFB is a day/overnight trip (couple hours each way).
I found this off-road park online. Its about 30 miles from Biloxi: Red Creek Off-Road.
Never been there, so no idea how big, small or challenging the place is. Might be geared more towards ATVs, but looks like you could get some mud on the tires. Maybe someone will chime in before I take a ride out there and check it out.
Guys
look up LA4X4 or GEAUX-AWOL
both are local clubs in Louisiana and both wheel OFTEN
between the 2 you can wheel almost 3 weekends a month
there are several trails between 1.5 and 4+ hours away from you but
ALL are on private land and by "invite only"
I have brought a few guys from Keesler AFB
IMO Reed Creek is not that good
unless you are running 40" swampers ,ALL ABOUT THE MUD at this place
I try to keep up with the rides that the clubs do and make about 75% of them
but with a 5 month old it is hard
and with a busted rear end ,broken locker, in the jeep rides are out
Yeah I drive a jeep but I wheel with any one who wants to wheel
I dont care what you drive
There is a very new park out side Natchez MS and about as good as they come LA4X4 wheels there at least once a month
PM me if you look at the calendar and see a ride you want to make
I have been on ALL of the trails with in 5 hours of New Orleans and
worked on cutting 90% of them so I can give you an idea of how it is
The forum has several different LA clubs in it, Jeep, Toyota, etc. Each club does runs, but they generally open them to anyone else who enjoys offroading.

Looks like I'm definitely going to be coming down there for the month of February. I'll need something to keep me out of the casinos. I've decided the wife is less likely to kill me if I take some offroad damage than if I were to lose money at the Black Jack table. But fear not...I definitely plan to lose some money at the Black Jack table.

check out the post about LA Trail rides
there is only 1 posted for feb. as of now
it would be ~2.5 hours or so for you to drive
but it is about the same for those of us who drive from N.O.
Ok, been in Biloxi since Monday, but been a little busy to post. From NC-MS I saw 10 FJ's to 16 Mini Coopers. Had to count for the wife, it's a road trip game we play to pass the time. Since being in Biloxi I've seen one SF and one VB. Maybe 2 VBs but I'm sure it was the same person. Might have been you, AF Chief. Anyway, if ya'll are on here, let me know, I wanna go get some mud on the tires.
like I said the best option is to get with us ,LA4X4, and go on a trail ride
SMJC has some stuff down your way but I dont know many of them and the
SMJC stands for South Mississippi Jeep Club
come on the ride on 2/17
we may do some thing the weekend before but not sure yet
Well, I haven't had time to do much since I've been here, but I did check out Red Creek Off Road yesterday. I must say I was not impressed with the experience. All about the mud. Mostly ATV and dirtbike trails, but I did find a few that were wide enough for regular SUVs. The $30 entry fee was a bit much, I thought, compared to North Carolina or Maryland parks which are $10-$15, if they even charge at all. I had to use the winch once when I decided to do a 3 point turn and backed into a hole that was deeper than I thought. After that it was smooth sailing. I kept it in 4H most of the time, only needing 4L 3 or 4 times. When we got back to the snack shack, a few trucks were parked there with trailers hauling ORVs. None of them could believe that I even made it back in the trails, muchless made it out. They had older pickup trucks with lifts and 38+" tires on them and they said I was an idiot for taking a stock SUV back there. I then filled them in on the secrets of the FJ and they seemed pretty impressed. Almost embarrssed that they "needed" lifts and big tires to make it on those trails. I wish I had my camera with me but the wife needed it for her MINI meeting, so I left it in NC for her. But like I said, not really an impressive park, just your average backwoods mudholes. The people were really nice though, both customers and employees. Very helpful except for they only had one copy of a map and wouldn't let us take it with us, so we had to remember where we were at all times. We did ok though. Probably not someplace I would go again, but for a one time thing, not a bad experience.
