So i was driving around in Mandeville, LA today, and i see a yellow FJC with a FJCruiserForums.com sticker on it. I figure if hes got a sticker like that, hes gotta be an enthusiast, and not some soccer mom. And with a license plate that said 2SCOOPS on it, hes gotta be easy to find on here. Well I register here and do a little lookin around, and I notice there are a surprising number of LA guys on here, so I figure I'll try and recruit all of yall
I am a member of the BSLCA and I'm just passing some information along to yall and to see if yall would like to join. I noticed that the BSLCA was mentioned in some threads, but I didnt see a dedicated thread, so here it is.
The BSLCA is a TLCA chartered club, and hooked up with LA4x4. Most of the members have FJ40s, but we welcome all Toyotas including Tacos, 4runners, FJCs, etc. We do have a handful of FJCruisers already, but more members are always better, and like i said, we welcome all toyotas.
We try to get trail rides in once a month or so, even if its with LA4x4 runnin at paradise. However, we've been up to Sicily a few times and helped clear some trails and we venture out to Texas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Bama, etc, etc. In fact, we have the Roundup in Katemecy coming up in March, and the GSMTR in May. We also have wrenching sessions every few months...free labor, food, and a place to talk shop with other cruiser heads. We also have monthly meetings in Lafayette at Buffalo Wild Wings. Oh, and we're sponsored by Musson Patout Toyota in New Iberia.
I met you guys one Sunday while you were having lunch @ Buffalo Wild Wings off Ambas Caffy in Lafayette. I couldn't stay and meet everyone, I had students that day that were following me around. Nice to see ya stop by. I'll be back in Lafayette next week, I'll be there for two weeks. If you all are around, maybe I'll see ya there. Take care.

First of all, Welcome aboard!!
Secondly, that was my FJ, or should I say my wife's FJ!! While I am the "enthusiast", it is my wife's 2WD "soccer mom" mobile and my "practice" FJ. I get to drive hers on the weekends. I plan on a 4WD as soon as this one is paid off but I do spend a lot of time researching and practicing on her rig so that when I get mine, I will be able to do it the way I want.

That's great!! I think I've seen the tan FJ45 driving around town. We started an informal group here aptly named the Hurricane Cruisers. We will probably have another get together in late Feb or March.
