Not everyone has been here sense the inception so hearing some of this is new to allot of us and points are being raised that might not have been thought of by everyone. To have a couple of insiders/Dealers willing to share ANY information is a huge help to all. As the launch date draws closer I'm sure there Will be more newbs finding this site .We would be doing everyone a disservice to turn this into a ***** fest like so many other sites have become. Just my .02

Car is built with Factory Options and then sent to "port" It is still called port even if it is a U.S. built vehicle. When you look at cars in the inventory search that are scheduled to arrive in 10+ days they have not reached port so port options have not been installed. Once the vehicle reaches "port" these accessories are installed.
Basically if you request a vehicle that is 10+ days out you can add/delete port options as you wish. (as long as your selling dealer is a willing participant)
For the most part, if SET has a port option that is very similar to the factory option they will order the vehicle from the factory without it so they can install their own option. I personally like this so we have more freedom on what we order and a shorter wait time to configure the vehicle. Pretty much anything that can be put on at port can also be installed by a dealer. Granted it may be a little higher because we are paying techs to install accessories and they get paid a little more than the normal accessory installer.
Yes it did, where is this mythical "port" located....And can you maybe shed a little light as to all the confusion with delv dates etc or is it simply because they haven't been telling you guys allot up to this point, again thanks

Ports for SET are in Jacksonville, FL and Atlanta, GA. As far as dates, we received an e-mail mid-February that said FJ Launch WILL be Mar. 27th. Up until that point it had been probablies and maybes followed by if's and but's. I would assume the dates that were posted on this site were over anxious salespeople passing out Hopeful dates.
I honestly believe Toyota was more anxious about getting this vehicle ready than any customer was just because of the massive amount of media attention.
this topic has been raised in dam near every other recent thread it seems - within the last couple of weeks - it's not refreshing and hardly informative.
In this case, yes the customer would actually pay for both. I don't know if they will actually send you the running boards boxed up or not. When we add Port wheels to a vehicle with factory alloys they send the factory's also. I would assume they can send them also if you ask for them. May come out better buying the rock rails from the dealer as they are an easy install and you would have both if you even want the original boards.
How sure are you about this? From conversations with both SET, CAT and 2 dealers it was my understanding that the rock rails show as a conflict and they can not be added in port.
Not calling you out, this is just different then what most of us have been hearing.
