Toyota Mall of Georgia

Has anyone had any experience with Toyota Mall of Georgia just outside of Atlanta? I went there today, and got pricing for a silver with Upgrade Package #1 for $27,500. With my trade in and taxes the amount financed was right around $23,480, and the dealer told me my monthly payments were going to be around $600 for a 60 month period! They bullied me around to try to get me to lease the FJ, because $600/month was out of my price range. My calculations show that my monthly payments should have been around $450 or a little more, but over $600 a month? Sorry to be long-winded, but why would they beat me up into trying to get me to lease? I was ready to purchase the vehicle with the monthly payments of $450. It was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. Does anyone have any words of advice or advice of a better dealership around the Atlanta area? Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

Need more info on the financing to be of any help...what's the interest rate, how's your credit, etc. I would tell you get pre-approved BEFORE you go to the dealership that way you will have a good idea of what your payments will be with not many surprises. A lot of times the dealer will also match the rate that you are pre-approved for. If your credit is good enough, try some creative financing. Talk to a loan specialist at a bank for ideas in the creative financing dept. I financed my FJ on two 0% interest credit cards. When my year of 0% is up I will just roll the balances over to new cards with the same 0%. I get offers in the mail ALL the time. BTW, it was actually the loan specialist at the bank that gave me the idea. Hope this helps and good luck!!

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

That seems really high payment wise. In September we had to upgrade my wife's car due to an accident and we financed $21,500 at 6.?% through our bank on a used car and the payment is $422 a month. We have really good credit though and have always qualified for the lowest rates. So either they aren't giving you what you think they are on trade (Cherokee County Toyota tried to pull this one over on my wife when I wasn't there and we were looking at new) or they are giving you a really high interest rate (entirely possible too, Toyota Motor Credit gave our neighbors 8% on a brand-new 4runner in August)!

What Cherokee county Toyota tried with my wife was this (this was before she got hit head on and totalled her car): We were looking at new 4runners, had already been approved at 0% for 48 months or 1.9% for 60 months. They knew they weren't getting us in a new car unless my truck was paid off (at the time we owed about $8500 on my 2005 Tacoma, they agreed to buy her Lexus Rx300 for $8500 knowing they could only sell it to a wholesaler for $6500) they then added $2000 to the price of the 4runner without telling my wife. I would go over the paperwork with a fine toothed comb to see if they are doing something similar.

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

I can help you here:

Call David McCoy at Heyward Allen in Athens GA. I bought mine from him as did my brother and a friend of mine last week. They are good folks and the GM is a personal friend of my brothers. Use my name as a reference. (Ted Dissen)

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

WOW my is finianced for 60 month for 27k at 16$ and it is $611 a month. Dont harp me here paying off in a month bonuses where planned in this only a month of interest or wait till feb hmmmm let me see here... Other wise even mine would have been a no go at that interest. Seems to me like they are attempting to hit you up for something else.

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

Well, you'd have to be at $27k otd at 0% for 60 months to be at $450. Now if you are at $23k, you should be around that ballpark, but $600 would definately be a bit high. I actually work at Toyota Mall of Georgia (hence the TMOG) in the finance department. Unless you have horrid credit or are rolling in negative equity you should be able to get fairly close to the payment you are talking about. Nobody should ever try to push you into a lease here, we do make sure that we make that option known to everyone (don't want any lawsuits for not giving ya all available options) but they shouldn't be pushing ya. If ya have any questions about APR just call in and ask for Ian. Something does seem amiss and I would like to know what they were basing their figures on.

Re: Toyota Mall of Georgia

I bought my 2000 Jeep Cherokee used from Toyota Mall of Georgia back when I was in high school... They raped me pretty good on it with no KY and I didn't notice it when I was younger. I contacted TMOG when I was shopping for my FJ, and they ****ed around with me and didn't take me seriously. I went to Toyota of Augusta to test drive one and ended up walking out the door with one fully loaded for 28k. My salesperson was Cat and she is a FJ owner too. I recommend you contact her if you are still shopping, the # there is 706-868-5454. Tell her Gary sent you.
