In two weeks I am looking to take the wife on a 3 night Anniversary Trip to the "forgotten coast". Need tips on where to go who to see etc. any advice is welcome.

If you are into hiking or biking, the St. Mark's Trail is an old rail line that's been converted to a paved trail which leads from Tallahassee all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. That was a favorite day trip for FSU students when I was there back in the late 80s. Further west, Panama City Beach was the popular beach town, which is probably 3x more developed by now.

edit: "forgotten coast" is the panhandle.

Re: Looking for info on FL Vacation

You could start off with St. Augustine, FL it has the oldest Church in the US, it is a beautiful little town, with the harbor.

You then could go to the Coco beach, very nice area. Or you could go to Palm Beach, which is considered the Diamond of Florida, check out the Post Home, have lunch at the Breakers on the Ocean, shopping on Worth Ave.

You could go to the Keys, very Beautiful area. Could get a little Bungalow on the Ocean, eating The Best Fresh Seafood in the Country. Dinning out under the stars, having drinks at the Tiki Bar, drinking rum runners Take a dive trip out onto the many reefs, or go snorkeling, etc.

That's my 2 cents

Kind of hard to say with such a vague request. Florida has so many vacation opportunities.

Click here for a website that should be a good start for info.

Re: Looking for info on FL Vacation

I'd personally head a lil more North West to Destin. The beaches are constantly voted best in the US and there is plenty to do (fishing, shopping, & of course strolling down the beach). If you have never been it is worth the trip. K
